MISSION STATEMENT

TechniQuip is dedicated to being a leading manufacturer of optical technology aimed at enhancing the productivity of individuals working in manufacturing, quality control, and product development environments.

Company History

TechniQuip was established in Massachusetts in 1970, initially producing closed-circuit television systems for surgical bays at local teaching hospitals, thus gaining insights into the emerging field of video devices. Over time, TechniQuip expanded its product range to include various lighting solutions, including early versions of the TechniLight Fluorescent Ring (US Patent 4855646) and the well-established FOI series of halogen illuminators. In the following 40 years, over a quarter million units of these products were shipped worldwide, making it challenging to find a manufacturing site in the USA without at least one of these products still in operation.

In 1996, the founders of TechniQuip retired, and the company was acquired by Technology Dynamics Group, an aerospace products company co-founded by Dave Wensley and George Grauer in 1991. Over the next 18 years, the legacy product lines were maintained, while new additions included the ProLine and SlimLine LED product lines, the transition of video crosshairs into compact digital devices, and the introduction of LED fiber optic illuminators, such as ProLux. Significant corporate events during this period included the acquisition of Sunray Manufacturing (motion picture lighting) in 2002, the fiber optic lighting division of StockerYale in 1996, and the fluorescent lighting product line of Coherent (2014). Notably, the OEM business of the company expanded significantly over the last decade and currently contributes to over 50% of total company revenues, supporting many top brands behind the scenes in achieving market success.

Productivity through Technology

The past two decades have brought fundamental changes to the global manufacturing landscape. TechniQuip embraced forward-looking strategies to remain competitive amidst evolving demands. Today, we harness the power of modern CAD/CAM/CNC technologies, enabling rapid progression from concept to part, assembly, and delivered product. We regard the development and expansion of our own supply chain as a vital component of our overall strategy, recognizing that the quality and cost performance of our vendors directly impact our own performance. Furthermore, we leverage our unique location to maintain a network of skilled resources ready to address complex optical, electrical, thermal, or industrial design challenges.

CERTIFIED QUALITY

TechniQuip has maintained ISO9000:20xx certification for many years and undergoes regular factory audits by reputable organizations such as Underwriter’s Laboratory and TUV. We employ automated systems to manage all aspects of the quality cycle, from handling non-conformances to precision electrical testing.
