Social Engagement

StarLight sees itself not only as a manufacturer of professional lighting systems and developer of technical solutions but also as aware of the social responsibility that a company should take on in times of globalization and growing societal challenges.

For years, we have been supporting "Doctors Without Borders." The aid organization, founded in 1971, provides medical emergency relief in crisis and war zones. The projects, which are financed to about 90% by donations, range from medical care to providing clean water and sanitation facilities. Another part of humanitarian work is educating the population. In 2015, we chose to forego gifts for our customers and partners during the Christmas season and instead made a small donation.

History

1997 – Foundation

After its establishment in 1997, StarLight initially focused on optical fibers and optical sensors. Building a professional optical fiber manufacturing facility and taking over the distribution of optical sensors from Datalaogic S.A. in Bologna, as well as contract manufacturing of various components for medical devices for eye correction, led to extensive expertise and formed the basis for stable growth.

With the planning and implementation of its own lighting systems for industrial and laboratory applications, the importance of lighting continued to grow, leading to the continuous expansion of a product range covering typical applications such as inspection, microscopy, or machine and workplace lighting.

2005 – New LED Lighting Systems

The market readiness of LEDs and new requirements for professional lighting systems resulted in the development of brighter LED variants of cold light sources with nearly identical dimensions and applications. The versatility of LED technology is also evident in the industry-unique modul-LED® system, developed by StarLight in 2008, which guarantees maximum flexibility in terms of application and light configuration. These and other innovations, as well as experiences from complex customer projects, have made StarLight a reliable partner for those seeking optimal lighting solutions for their applications. An efficient team and various distribution partners at home and abroad ensure that customers and prospects are best satisfied.

2012 – Establishment of the norisLED Brand

Over the past years, StarLight had acquired extensive knowledge of light and its specific properties. Therefore, in August 2012, StarLight Opto-Electronics GmbH & Co. KG made the decision to offer general lighting under the norisLED brand and focused specifically on planning and implementing lighting solutions for living and working spaces.

2014 – Relocation to New Business Premises

With the move to larger and better-equipped business premises in early 2014, production capacity and storage space were significantly increased. Additionally, the rapidly growing norisLED business segment can already look back on many successful projects.

2015 – Opening of the Light Studio

Since early 2015, StarLight has offered its own light studio under the norisLED brand, showcasing a wide selection of high-quality brands and concepts to customers.
