npi electronic GmbH|Camera Centro (CellCam) for Electrophysiology
Details
npi electronic GmbH | Camera Centro (CellCam)
When selecting a camera for electrophysiology, it is not only the image quality that matters: it is very important that the camera does not emit any electrical noise that could interfere with the sensitive measurements. Motor-driven fans for cooling are usually not used here, as they can transfer their vibrations to the recording electrodes.

The Centro is an affordable all-rounder for fixed and live samples across a wide range of microscopy and macroscopy applications. A 20-megapixel sensor opens up opportunities for sub-region imaging at higher frame rates for techniques such as stochastic super resolution (STORM) and dynamic time-lapse imaging while still maintaining the ability to oversample to push diffraction limits at all magnifications. The camera offers excellent QE, low read noise with the reassurance of an optimized fan-cooled design, with 8- and 12-bit digitization and near-infrared sensitivity.
