Description

If the "Axiovert" 200 configuration does not include tubes with integrated Bertrand lens (000000-1005-828 or 000000-1005-829), the following item is required for the setting of Hoffman contrast: Auxiliary microscope d=30, order number 444830-9902-000.

The above objectives are original Zeiss objectives modified by Modulation Optics Inc., USA, in accordance with our quality guidelines. The condenser is a product from Modulation Optics Inc. which has been optimized for the "Axiovert" 200.

Hoffman Modulation Contrast is a technique for the contrasting of unlabeled specimens, developed by Dr. Hoffman, the founder of the Modulation Optics company. Its price and its contrasting quality is approximately positioned between "Varel" and DIC. Unlike DIC, however, it can also be used with Petri dishes made of plastic, since it is insensitive to birefringence. Accordingly, it is mainly used in examinations of living cells, particularly for In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).
